In this series so far, we have covered the self-discovery stage, realized what makes us happy, noted the things we want to change in ourselves and have also understood our personality type.
So, now is the time to formulate your action plan. Take your journal and write down the things you want to change or improve upon as soon as possible and on the next page write down your long term goals.
Now, for the sake of easy understanding let us assume that one of your goals is to improve your health and maintain optimum body weight. So the obvious action plan is to exercise, eat more vegetables and fruits and cut down on processed food and sugar. But, to ensure that you stick to your plan, you should come up with further details. For example, make a 7-day meal plan and plan out each meal in detail. If your breakfast is a smoothie then write down the ingredients in detail so that your grocery list can be easily prepared and you will easily keep up with your diet. This simple rule of having clarity about your goals, the path to achieving them and the exact steps to be taken is the key to success. Obviously, you will have to walk the path to reach your destination but, having a clear map with you is essential.

It is time to conclude this series that I have thoroughly enjoyed working on. Time to do some real talk and here we go.
The reality is only if you love, accept and respect yourself will you be able to receive love and respect from others. Only you can make yourself happy. Do not expect a friend or life partner to make you happy. Happiness is a state of mind. If you truly decide to be happy then, the entire universe will give you reasons one after the other to be happy.
Another very important step to loving yourself is by being grateful for everything that you are and you have. Be grateful for your eyesight, healthy body, your ability to read and write and much more. Look at the positive aspects of yourself that you love and say thank you out loud. Be grateful for the food you eat and clean water your drink. Be grateful for your home, your bed, your pillow, your blanket and your peaceful sleep that rejuvenates you. Be grateful for the sunlight, the air you breathe and every small and big thing in your life.
A few tips on self-love and self-acceptance:
- Have an attitude of gratitude
- Say positive affirmations in the morning
- Eat healthy
- Exercise regularly
- Stop comparing yourself with highly edited social media images
- Watch your self-talk (only positive and kind words please)
- Do not cling to people or objects for happiness
- Know that only you can make yourself happy
- Have a clear action plan to achieve your goals
- Read good books
- Be genuinely interested in other people and you would cultivate great friendships
