Garnier Express 2 in 1 Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover- Review

I love my waterproof mascara but, taking it off at night used to mean that I will have to say good bye to at least a few of my eyelashes. Yes, even with oil cleansing, I found it difficult.  I did not want to get the pricier water proof make up removers while I bought drugstore make up on sale. You know how I think now  :p (don’t judge ya all).

Anyways this new Garnier launch in Dubai is a boon for people like me.

Price: AED 24

Quantity:  125 ml

Availability: Major hypermarkets and supermarkets

It is a sturdy plastic bottle with a flip open cap. It has 2 separated phases (Lavender color liquid and transparent liquid) that needs to be mixed together before using.

Product Claims:

  1. Ultra Efficient

Removes eye makeup perfectly, even waterproof, while leaving no greasy feel or residue

  1. Protects Eyelashes

Enriched with naturally derived Arginine, Express 2 in 1 leaves a protective layer on your eyelashes and densifies them in 4 weeks.  Without rubbing, they feel perfectly cleansed and cared for

  1. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

How to Use it?

Shake the bottle to mix both the phases completely. Apply a few drops to cotton pad and hold against your eyes for a few seconds to allow make up to dissolve. Then, gently wipe away from inner to outer corner of the eyes without rubbing.

Ingredients:

My take on it

This product has made make-up removal easier than ever before. I use it as per the directions and achieve squeaky clean lashes. I even use it to remove layers of lipstick from my lips in just 2 wipes. I guess a pros and cons kind of review will make it easier for you to understand the product better.

Pros:

  1. Travel friendly bottle
  2. Flip open cap makes pouring it onto cotton pad easier
  3. Eyelashes feel nourished and not dry
  4. Did not irritate my sensitive eyes and skin
  5. I wear contact lenses and it did not bother me
  6. Affordable and effective

Cons:

First time I felt it tingle mildly (not sting). Nothing else.

Conclusion: If you do not wear water-proof make-up then, use olive oil for make-up removal and skip this baby. I am not expecting any lash growth benefits as I am in the habit of using a face wash as a part of my night time skincare routine and hence do not leave the arginine on the entire night.

Disclaimer: Product purchased by me (using hubby’s money  :p). Please do a patch test before using.
