Can we just skip the long boring introduction bit and jump into this article (you sense my over enthusiasm right?) I read about the hair growth benefits of rosemary essential oil from Yamini’s beauty blog www.beautyandblush.com and thought to give it a try. After 2 months of consistent use, I can vouch for the efficacy of this magical hair growth potion.
How to prepare the Magical Potion? (Overnight treatment)
In a dark glass jar (very important to protect the effectiveness of essential oil) combine 1 tablespoon of Castor oil, 3 tablespoons of Sweet Almond Oil and 8 to 10 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil. Shake it until well mixed. I use a dropper to evenly apply this hair oil to my clean scalp at night. I dispose about 3 ml using the dropper and use it strictly as an overnight scalp treatment every alternate night. It is highly recommended to add pure Vitamin E Oil (3 capsules) into this mixture to increase its potency. I did not have any Vitamin E with me and since Sweet Almond oil and Castor Oil both have Vitamin E the hair oil still worked well for me. Prepare a fresh batch every week.
Massage slowly onto your scalp and leave it overnight. Rinse it off in the morning using natural shampoo followed by conditioner (both without SLS and SLES)
Method 2
I do not play around much with my hair oil and henceforth I like to mix 12 to 15 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil and a few drop of castor oil into my regular hair oil (Neelibhringadi Keratailam).
In the morning, I use this remixed hair oil of mine to massage my scalp and thoroughly coat my hair strands before shampooing.
The Extra Step
You can also add a few drops of Rosemary Essential Oil and 2 drops of castor oil to your shampoo and conditioner as well.
As a leave in conditioner
Extra Virgin Olive Oil mixed with a few drops of Rosemary Essential Oil acts as a good leave in conditioner.
I like to use this leave in conditioner after straightening my hair. Even on those curly hair days, this leave in conditioner gives perfect definition to my curls without weighing them down
