Been busy with blog posts for 2 hours at a stretch and my body asked me to give a jar of chocolate (yea right baby no thanks for the suggestion). As I am still recovering from all that festive meals, it is good to be mindful about what I put in my system. So snack time means (drum rolls please) Healthy Grapefruit time!!
Do you know about the oh so healthy grapefruit?
Grapefruit is an exceptional source of Vitamin C and Vitamin A along with copper, pantothenic acid, dietary fiber (important for healthy gut), lycopene (red & pink variety grapefruit contains it), potassium, choline (essential for brain health and liver health), biotin and traces of Vitamin B1.
Some of the health, beauty and fat loss benefits of consuming grapefruit are:
- Curbs hunger
- Has high levels of antioxidants
- Lowers bad cholesterol or LDL
- Aids fat burning
- Boosts metabolism
- Stabilizes blood sugar
- Good for heart health
- Fights off the formation of free radicals that causes cancer
- It aids in the production of collagen that keeps skin youthful, plump and glowing

You can eat it instead of juicing. But, I like to juice it using a citrus juicer. The pulp on top of the juicer as you can see in the picture below is super healthy and is eaten as such.
We try to include grapefruit in our diet at least 3 times a week. What about you my friends?
