Let me start off by stating that I am not a makeup artist but a makeup lover who does not have too many techniques up my sleeve. I want my makeup application to be very easy yet put together. Having said that, I am liking this NYX baby in my makeup stash lately.
It is a liquid highlighter that is bronzy peachy golden in color. The kind of color that makes my super brown skin have a goddess like glow. But be warned ladies, a little goes a long way.
It comes in a 18 ml tube that is super travel friendly and hygienic (thumbs up).
Product promises:
Lightweight liquid illuminator that gives skin a refreshed glow and beautiful highlight.
Pros:
- Has golden shimmer and not frosty glitter
- Tiny amount of product is only required
- Gives a subtle glow
- Not glittery or sparkly
- Packaging is travel friendly
- The tiny hole of the tube prevents product wastage
- Very affordable
- Perfect for brown and tanned skin
- Gives fresh Summer glow
- The consistency of the product is neither too runny or thick
- Owing to the perfect consistency it is easy to work with it
- Gives most foundations a glowing finish when mixed with it
- No skin irritations
Cons
The peachy golden shade will not show up on very fair and dark complexions
In the picture above, you can see the product blended on the lower half of my hand. It leaves a subtle glow and no peachy tint or chunky glitters.
How I use it?
I mix 2 to 3 dots (yes dot and not drop) with my CC cream and apply it on my cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose and cupids bow. Certain evenings, when I have that extra 5 minutes to get ready I apply a tiny bit on my eyelids and also use it to highlight my brow bone.
Ouch moment!
My first time with this product was a disaster as I had no clue how much was too much and my Mr. asked me why my cheeks and nose looked sweaty. YIKES!!
Soumya’s take?
I like the gleam shade more than sunbeam as this peachy golden glow is perfect for my skin. I would not recommend it to dark skinned beauties or pale skinned beauties. It is the perfect shade for brown and olive skin. If you are too oily you could skip applying it on the bridge of your nose. Also, I use it only during evening and night outs and not during the day time.
Next, I would like to try the pure gold shade in this range.
