Wet N Wild – Walking on Eggshells Review

Hi my friends!

Hope you all are having a nice day. How are the Navratri celebrations coming along? I am excited to dress up for Diwali. And that means this mama went make up shopping.

In Dubai, drugstore make up means a quick run to Centrepoint and picking up the famous affordable brands like Rimmel, Revlon and of course my favorite Maybelline. Finding an even more affordable wet n wild make up in Virgin store meant that both I and my hubby’s wallet are happy.

Out of the few beauties I picked up, this eye shadow trio has become my favorite.

It is their best seller Color Icon Trio- Walking on Eggshells!

Here are the pictures and swatches in day light (freckle skin alert :p)

Haha that crease shade is not showing up well as it blended into my super brown skin (feeling so exotic). Love how buttery smooth and pigmented these shades are.

I cannot imagine splurging on high end eye shadows as I am not a regular eye shadow wearer.  If you are just like me and do not use eye shadows on a regular basis, this could be well worth a try. I use concealer and powder on my lids for priming and this beauty stayed on my eyelids for more than 8 hours and that is a huge deal for me. I have slightly oily lids and this beauty did not fade at all.

What I like?

  • The Price. It is only AED 29
  • The pigmentation
  • Can build even layers easily
  • Very smooth
  • Not chalky at all
  • Longevity on oily lids

What I dislike?

The crease shade is not matte (not complaining as I own a decent brown matte eye shadow). I actually like to use this shade as an entire eyelid shade with lots of mascara.

Dupe Alert:

Apparently pinterest is going crazy with this palette as it has shades that are dupes to MAC and Urban Decay eye shadows (What ??) So, I spent an entire afternoon looking at the reviews and swatches and after getting almost squinty eyed, here are my findings:

  • Brow bone shade is a dupe for Mac Shroom. The brow bone shade is more yellow compared to Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette’s Virgin shade. I personally prefer the brow bone shade than Virgin.
  • Crease shade is a dupe for Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette Smog. (Although I personally think smog is slightly darker)
  • Eyelid shade is a dupe for Mac Naked Lunch. Love this shade.

I am so keen on trying so many different looks with these beautiful shades. If I muster the courage then, I would post an image or two in the upcoming posts.

Have you tried this beauty? What are your thoughts?

See you soon with a video. Stay blessed!

Hehe I know I sounded like a makeup scientist 😀

  2. Like you, I am also not a regular eyeshadow wearer, even I am not good at that 🙁 I have planned so many times to buy a good colorful palette having all the shades, but yet to gather that courage before splurging! Anyway, this wet & wild palette sounds pretty decent and I am looking forward to your EOTD posts with this beauty 🙂 🙂

  3. Lovely review. I have hooded eyes so I try to stick with with matte shades especially for crease area. But once in a while I do fancy some bling 😛

Wowieee! let me try 🙂 even though i dont invest my time on eyeshadows just the eyeliner mostly and also please let us know some wonderful makeup ideas to transform my skinny eyebrows to thicker as well 🙂

Hiya Reshma 😀 Since you are not much onto make up you could try the Loreal Brow Artist Plumper. It is tinted and has tiny fibres that will make your eyebrows look thicker. Also benefit’s new brow products are very good 🙂

      Thank you Aditi 🙂

  5. I have this eyeshadow trio. Like you mentioned it would have been great if they added a matte transition shade, but for the price we pay can’t complain much 😀
